Ode to Gus Gus and Jaq

Last week, Jane was complaining about mice in our bedroom walls that were keeping her up. I decided she was crazy and was imagining it because there were not any mice in my house! A couple days later, I was enjoying myself with Jane in the kitchen and I spotted Gus Gus. I only kinda reacted to him and started screaming, ran into the family room, and jumped up on the couch. After many attempts by Jane to catch Gus Gus and save his life, I decided it was time to pull out the traps. Gus Gus was caught last Thursday and Karen and I had a proper burial service in the garbage can. I was feeling great about myself until last night I heard some scratching coming from my bedroom wall. I'm pretty sure there was an ROUS (rodent of
unusual size) eating through my wall. When Jane said there were mice keeping her up, she was not lying. I was up all night listening to that stupid mouse. After church this morning, I walked in my kitchen to discover Jaq in another trap. I wouldn't mind them if they looked like the true Gus Gus and Jaq from Cinderella,

but unfortunately they look more like this thing.

I'm hoping that's the end of my little friends, but something tells me it's not.

Cute study picture...that's how I feel and look at the end of each and every day with my two vivacious children. As for the mice--I had them in my walls in Logan too. I think Logan's a rodent trap. Get out while you can (or perhaps upgrading to more modern dwellings would help too)!
