Illness

I have found myself to have fallen ill to a very serious disease.  It's called senioritis.  85% of high school, college, and graduate school "seniors" are victims of this disease.  The most common symptoms are procrastination, motivation to complete any tasks that are not related to homework, inexplicable headaches, a lack of sleep, and beginning final projects at 8 PM the night before they are due.  Good news is, most victims of this terrible ailment are able to see a light at the end of the tunnel (although that light may be the sun coming up after an all-nighter).  One more day, and then one more semester.  I can do this!

Race Re-cap

It's time for the re-cap of my Halloween half!  The race was on Saturday and started just about Sundance in Provo Canyon.  It went down the canyon and ended at the shops at Riverwoods.  I was really nervous for a few reasons.

1.  It was not only my first half, but my first race!
2.  It's mostly downhill and I wasn't sure how my knees would handle it.
3.  I was in Boston the week before the race and knew I wouldn't have enough time that week to get some good training in.
4.  I hate running.

Let's be honest, concerns 1 through 4 (mostly 3 and 4) prevented me from ever even signing up for the race.  I quit before it even started.  It's a good thing I did though.  I must've known I was going to be sick that morning and not able to run the race anyway.

We'll give that Thanksgiving 5K a shot instead.

Bah-ston

Remember that one time I went to Boston?  Well now that I'm in bed with strep instead of in the car on my way to St. George I have a few minutes to post some pictures.

I fell in love with the east coast.  I've been to New York a couple times (and love it) but Massachusetts was completely different.  We were there for work, but had plenty of play time in the evenings too.  After work on Monday we went into Boston where I met my boyfriend, Kilted Colin.  Ok, maybe he's not my boyfriend, but we did have three baby dolls together that I helped him juggle on top of a unicycle in his street performing show.  That was fun.

Tuesday night was probably my favorite.  After work we went to Salem where we walked around, shopped, and went on a walking ghost tour around Salem.  I'm pretty sure there's a ghost in one of my pictures.  I had some delicious chowder at Rockafellas to top of the trip to Salem.

Notice the possible ghost in the bottom right corner
Samantha!
Wednesday was a rainy day and the only thing that makes a rainy day better is a cupcake from Mike's Pastry.  Delicious.

Cupcake had a photo shoot.  Red velvet....Yum
On Thursday I found my dream home/town.  Nahant is a a little peninsula that's not far from Boston.  There are sailboats all around and cute little (or huge) colorful homes that you'd find right out of a movie.  I plan on living here one day, probably after I become rich winning the lottery.
It was a tad windy on the beach
