Happy Collecting

I thought I would share with all of you my extremely pleasant customer I talked to at work. Our conversation went something like this:

"Hello, this is Mike"
"Hi Mike, is Johnathan there?"
"No, who is this?"
"This is Elizabeth from Impact, could I please speak with Johnathan?"
"I told you people two weeks ago that my brother died, but you won't stop calling me. What did you say your name is again?"
"Elizabeth" (this is when I looked in the notes and noticed that no one had told us of Johnathan's death)
"Well Elizabeth, I am taking your name and your company's name and this number and I am calling my attorney and I am suing your company for harrassament."
"Well Mike," (I wanted to continue this sentence with a "if you could just fax us a copy of the death certificate then we will stop calling," but Mike interrupted with a...)
"No, you don't talk. You shut up and listen to me for a minute. You keep calling this number and I'm telling you now that John had nothing to his name. You're not going to get any from him. Stop calling."
"Ok, we will stop calling as soon as you," (once again wanted to mention the death certificate, but he cut me off with)
"Shut up and stop talking. I'm suing you." Followed by slamming the phone.

I love work. People like Mike make me feel really good about myself. Actually, people like Mike really make me laugh when they get so angry. I really feel bad for this guy that his brother died, but at the same time, he acted like a five year old and I couldn't help but laugh at him.
That is one example of the joys of being a debt collector at Impact Payday Loans.
